What Is Not Covered by Workers’ Compensation?
Not every workplace injury qualifies for workers’ compensation. Below are common injuries that workers’ comp does not cover:
- Off-the-clock and off-site injuries, such as accidents during daily commutes, unpaid lunch breaks, or while running personal errands on work time.
- Preexisting conditions that are not aggravated or worsened by job-related activities, such as arthritis or diabetes.
- Injuries caused by misconduct, such as fighting or horseplay among employees or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
What Is the Deadline for Filing a Workers’ Compensation Claim?
